Signage

The purpose of the Signage Ordinance is to provide each sign user an opportunity for adequate identification while protecting the City against excessive advertising and clutter of signs by regulating the size, location, placement, manner, illumination source, and design quality under which signs may be displayed. These regulations help to ensure that signs are in harmony with the overall building design, the surrounding residential and nonresidential neighborhoods, and provide safety of motorists and pedestrians by minimizing the distraction of excessive and intrusive signs.

The most recent Signage Ordinance was adopted by the City Council on September 11, 2009.
