Palm Desert Station Significant Incident Report for Wednesday, May 17, 2017

0059 Hours- Brandishing/ 10851 Recovery/ Animal Cruelty: Palm Desert Police responded to a call of a Hispanic male adult, later identified as Johnny Singleterry, 30 y/o from Indio, brandishing a firearm in the 44000 block of Acacia Drive. While deputies were searching for the suspect they heard three gunshots. The suspect had shot a dog in the backyard of a residence while trying to hide. The homeowners were present and the dog was taken to an emergency vet clinic where he succumbed to his injuries. Deputies located the suspect in the area who had .22 cal. revolver on his person along with keys to a reported stolen vehicle. No other persons or dogs were injured from the incident. Forensics responded to process the scene. During the investigation, it was determined that Singleterry had a no bail felony warrant. Singleterry was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio. Brandishing a firearm/animal cruelty/possession of a stolen vehicle charges will be added later. #T171370001
